Public Defender’s Office advances in digital transformation with investments in Artificial Intelligence
The Senior Administration of the Public Defender’s Office of Mato Grosso do Sul began implementing the Microsoft 365 package, including the use of artificial intelligence through Microsoft Copilot.
According to the public defender attached to the office, Pedro de Luna, the initiative represents a strategic investment in technology, aiming to make internal processes more efficient and, mainly, improve the service provided to those assisted.
“The implementation of Microsoft Office 365 represents a qualitative leap in the technological infrastructure of the MS Public Defender’s Office, with a direct impact on the productivity of defenders, civil servants and civil servants. By integrating modern tools and artificial intelligence resources, such as Copilot, we strengthen our ability to provide fast and efficient service to the population we serve, promoting innovation with institutional responsibility,” says the defender.
With the new digital structure, defenders, servers and collaborators can now count on a robust set of updated and integrated tools. Among the main resources are Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, in addition to cloud storage via OneDrive — offering 1 TB of space for remote and secure access to documents and files.
Another highlight is the use of Microsoft Teams, which will facilitate internal communication and videoconferencing, promoting a more agile and integrated collaborative environment between teams.
The big news is the introduction of Microsoft Copilot, an artificial intelligence system that operates in an integrated manner with the Office suite tools. With it, it is possible to automate tasks, generate content, analyze data and make decisions more accurately and quickly.
“More than a technology, Copilot is a strategic ally to free up professionals’ time and direct efforts to what really matters: serving citizens,” says the director of the Public Defender’s Office’s Information Technology Superintendence, Marcelo Muccillo.
The implementation of the new system will be carried out in phases. On April 23, access credentials began to be made available to users, in addition to the publication of tutorial videos to guide the use of the tools. On the 25th, the official migration from the old Webmail to Outlook 365 took place. The process of transferring the email history will be done gradually, with an estimated completion time of up to five days.
Throughout the implementation process, STI’s technical team will offer continuous support, ensuring the stability of services and responding to user queries and requests.
